UKFF Xmas Social

The boys from our favourite fishing forum http://www.ukfishingforums.co.uk/ were out again on their xmas jolly at welham lake in malton and our own tackle consultants Craig Green and Gary Logan were in attendance for the day out. The day turned out to be a very cold affair with parts of the lake freezing over but remaining mostly fishable a great feat considering that most other venues had been frozen solid for days. In the end up it turned out that no fish were bagged on the day but one of the members Nidge Mac had been out the day before and baged a decent pike so the trophy went back with him. If you are looking for a cracking carp venue for your first twenty plus fish then we would definately give welham a go and the baillif Kelly is a smashing lad always on hand to give advice and help out, The owner Gary can be contacted through his site at http://www.welhamlake.co.uk/.

Happy New Year

Well it's finally here 2010, this year will see some brand new exciting products at TFT and we hope to launch our own range of terminal tackle very soon so keep your eyes peeled. The dreaded snow has been putting the block on most fishing trips and for our own tackle consultants Craig Green and Gary Logan, things have been no different, the boys recently had a field trip down to welham Lake in Malton for a go at the wily carp but the big freeze put paid to the trip. Keeping warm is essential at this time of the year and that's why we have added the humble vacuum flask to our range of accessories, you can get these flasks now at an incredible £8.99

ALMOST OVER..

Well for those of us who fly fish the end of the fishing season is coming to a close with just over a month left to enjoy the outdoors, many of the fly anglers i know will now put their feet up and begin the process of tackling down for the year. This involves cleaning up or replacing the tired fly lines that we have been casting all season and clearing out the no doubt over flowing fly boxes, as well as promising ourselves not to tie so many flies for next season!!.

However for others its the beginning of pastures new until next March, many of us will go and dig out the coarse fishing gear and go off in search of new quarries to hunt out and maybe try to beat last seasons coarse pb's. Whatever your plans are for the close season have a good one and i hope to see you out on the river bank come March ready for a new and exciting trout season.
